What it is
A guided, evidence-led decision record for traders who want to explain a setup, define failure before preferred size, and rehearse the plan in a paper-only workflow.
Risk-first pre-trade review for serious IBKR active traders
Lumiere is a risk-first pre-trade review system that helps active traders inspect momentum and chart structure, state what invalidates the thesis, calculate a position-size ceiling from a dollar-risk budget, and save a paper plan before opening an order ticket. An optional read-only local connection can bring IBKR Paper TWS market context into the review.
No payment information is required for the protected sample. Lumiere is for education, research, paper planning, and journaling; it does not provide investment advice or transmit customer paper or live orders in V1. Lumiere is not affiliated with or endorsed by Interactive Brokers.
Category definition
It organizes the decisions that belong before an order ticket: evidence quality, setup logic, observable invalidation, dollar-risk sizing, execution constraints, and a saved paper plan. It complements scanners, charts, broker previews, and journals rather than replacing their distinct jobs.

A guided, evidence-led decision record for traders who want to explain a setup, define failure before preferred size, and rehearse the plan in a paper-only workflow.
Not a signal feed, broker, auto-trader, copy-trading service, promise of performance, or substitute for independent judgment. It does not decide whether a trade is suitable for you.
Inspectable proof
In Lumiere's completed synthetic sample, a 50.00 USD entry and 49.20 USD thesis-invalidation level create 0.80 USD of planned risk per share. An 80 USD user-selected risk budget divided by 0.80 produces a 100-share theoretical ceiling before lower capital, liquidity, portfolio, broker, and execution constraints.
Synthetic paper example only—not current market data, a recommendation, a suitable risk budget, a maximum-loss guarantee, or evidence of trading performance. Gaps, liquidity, fees, stop mechanics, systems, and data can change realized outcomes.
Role in the tool stack
The useful question is not which tool replaces every other tool. It is whether the pre-trade record closes the decision gaps those tools intentionally leave open.
Workflow
Run price, movement, volume, chart, catalyst, and source checks with clear provenance.
Use deterministic pattern state, lessons, overlays, and voice mentoring to understand what the chart is actually showing.
Identify invalidation, size by dollar risk, and compare R-target scenarios before acting.
Preview bracket-style paper plans and save the setup for review before the order ticket.
Try before paying
The sample path is deliberately narrow so you can inspect the workflow before choosing a paid beta plan.
Review the synthetic setup, calculation, constraints, no-trade conditions, and product boundaries without signing in.
Create a protected session for one analysis and one saved sample plan. No payment information is required.
Complete the protected review and save the sample plan before deciding whether a paid beta plan fits.
Paid features remain locked until you deliberately select a plan; completing the protected sample does not create a subscription.
Risk-first library
Source-backed guides explain how Lumiere separates thesis invalidation, dollar-risk sizing, order mechanics, and simulated IBKR Paper TWS practice.
Ten explicit decisions from data freshness and setup logic through size, execution constraints, and no-trade conditions.

The main product is the hosted web app: chart intelligence, voice mentor, risk sizing, screen-read workflow, paper plans, and journal.
See the workflowFor IBKR Paper TWS users, the Local Connector brings broker-aligned quotes, chart bars, daily volume, and connection status into Lumiere's review workflow. Your IBKR context stays local; Lumiere uses it to strengthen the pre-trade review.
